PROGRAMME | Envisioning: Zine Making with Nathan Crothers

Saturday 14 Aug 2021 - 11:00am to Sunday 15 Aug 2021 - 3:00pm

Work with artist Nathan Crothers to create a series of zines at the Ulster Museum in this new programme from Making the Future.

Envisioning is an exciting zine making programme at the Ulster Museum, Belfast where you will work with artist Nathan Crothers.

This exclusive two-day programme will work towards the completion of a collaborative zine, and two individual experimental mini zines.

A zine is a self-published magazine that can take any form, originally emerging from Sci-Fi fandom, and then later embraced by the Punk DIY subculture.

How it will work:

- Join us for a guided tour of the brand new Collecting the Past/Making the Future at the Ulster Museum. Learning about the objects and issues on display will act as a catalyst and inspiration.

- Develop new skills in zine making, specifically drawing, collage and photocopying techniques.

- Take part in two creative sessions with artist Nathan Crothers, hear about his practice and learn how to make impactful zines.

- All participants will have the opportunity to complete and take home 3 zines.

This programme is FREE and open to anyone from or based in Northern Ireland or border counties. All ages welcome from 18+ years onwards.

***Due to funding stipulations, this programme is only eligible for those who have not taken part in a previous Making the Future programme. Numbers are extremely limited to ensure COVID19 safety guidelines.***

The programme will take place on the following dates and you must be able to confirm that you can attend both.

Saturday 14th August, 11am - 3pm Ulster Museum, Belfast

Sunday 15th August, 11am - 3pm Ulster Museum, Belfast

Due to COVID-19 restrictions these workshops are not catered and participants are advised to make use of the cafe during the break in session or bring a packed lunch with them.
