Digital Summer Camp: 3D Modelling with MeshMixer
A fun online 3D modelling workshop for 13 -16 year olds.
Have you ever wanted to learn how 3D models are made?
Have you ever wanted to create your own “ultimate” super hero?
Do you wish that cars had wings?
If so, then this is the workshop for you! During the session, participants will learn the fundamentals of 3D modelling using MeshMixer, a free 3D editing suite, to create a “model mashup” of objects sourced from the internet. This could mean finding a model of your favourite fictional character and enhancing them with other objects and designs or could be a completely abstract sculpture created using the digital sculpting tools. Your only limitation is your imagination!
Using MeshMixer, participants will manipulate models, adjust dimensions, fuse models together and add their own details to create their own one-of-a-kind 3D model!
What you need:
- Access to the Internet and Zoom
- A desktop/laptop computer and a copy of MeshMixer installed (Free)
- A USB mouse with a scroll wheel is strongly recommended but not essential.
This workshop is suitable for children aged between 13 and 16 years old. It will begin with a live* session at 11am. Participants will then have time to complete a creative activity. Another live session will complete the workshop and end at approximately 3pm.
Participants must be resident in Northern Ireland. A parent/guardian/care provider must register their child/children and be present during the workshop. Maximum of 3 participants per household.
*Zoom Pro will be used for live sessions.
