3D Design with Tinkercad - Teacher Workshop

Aimed at teachers, this workshop will provide an introduction to 3D design using the free online software Tinkercad.

Join us for an introduction to 3D design or CAD (Computer Aided Design) using Tinkercad. In this workshop, you will learn the foundational ideas behind 3D design as well as how to best introduce 3D design activities with your pupils.

Additionally, you will be guided through how to design and export a car for entry in the Little Inventors Build a Car Challenge. You will also be shown how you can 3D print from Tinkercad.(You do not need a 3D printer to take part in the workshop or competition).

This workshop may be of particular interest to Technology & Design teachers but is free and open to anyone who works in a school environment in Northern Ireland.

Resources/Materials/Apps Required :

  • A computer/mobile device with the Zoom app installed
  • Access to Tinkercad.com or the Tinkercad iPad app (preferably on a separate device to the one being used for Zoom)

Other Information

This course will run from 7pm until approximately 8.30pm and will take place on Zoom. You should receive an email with a link to the Zoom a day before the workshop.

Please note, this course is only open to teachers, classroom assistants, school technicians, substitute teachers and student teachers in Northern Ireland.
