Hothouse 2018

Music and Creative Media Hothouses 2019 - FULLY BOOKED

Monday 22 Apr 2019 (All day) to Friday 26 Apr 2019 (All day)

Hothouse returns to Nerve Centre this Easter to give creative young people aged 11-18 a platform to pursue their music and creative media dreams! Registration is now full for both programmes.

Music Hothouse is an intensive five days of music creation and performance workshops, led by renowned industry professionals, will push songwriters’ creative talents to the max and hone the creativity, composition and collaboration skills of musical masters and novices alike.

Running alongside the music workshops will be a five-day creative media programme where participants will create their own unique films and learn how to use digital design technologies to enhance their creativity.

Participants will develop musicianship, make films, form bands, design logos, jam, be creative, perform with like-minded young individuals at a showcase event and get a kick-start into the music and creative industries.

'It's a great opportunity for young ones to not be scared of going out into the unknown world and forming a band with people they've never met.'

Sam, 18

'I felt a little bit nervous before it, fearing I would make a slight mistake, but I felt on top of the world during the performance!'

Lochlainn, aged 12

Music Hothouse 2017- Easter Final Showcase

'It's an incredible opportunity – you meet a bunch of new people, make music with them, learn in more ways that you can think of and have the best time doing all of that.'

Caolan Austin (now Engineer, Mixer and Producer at Small Town America Recording Studio)

'The thing I enjoyed most about the Music Hothouse was the camaraderie, it was the first time in my life that I was surrounded by like minded people; people who didn’t necessarily view their future in the cookie cutter style, people who thought a little more outside the box, who felt more comfortable against the grain than with it and who felt compelled to be a part of this industry. '

Niamh McCourt (now Project Manager at Smalltown America Records)
