Event Management students at Nerve Centre have pulled together a one-off live music show featuring performances from D:Ream, Cherym and Philip Steele.

In the first year of this course offered by Nerve Centre in partnership with South West College, students have been able to learn the ins-and-outs of what makes a successful event, including marketing and promotion, health, safety and logistical issues – and of course booking the talent.

The students secured the festival's headliner, Peter Cunnah of D:Ream, by chance. Student Paul Kavanagh ran into the 'Things Can Only Get Better' singer on a walk in County Donegal, where Cunnah has recently relocated. Not wanting to miss an opportunity, Paul asked if he would be interested in performing at the festival. To everyone's surprise, he said yes.

D:Ream is joined on the roster by homegrown pop-punk talents Cherym and singer-songwriter Philip Steele. In a post-show segment, acts will be interviewed by Paul Connolly of The Wood Burning Savages. This is the first broadcast of its kind for Nerve Centre, with cross-collaboration of projects; graduates of the BFI Film Academy form the camera crew.

The Off the Walls Festival will be broadcast on Off the Walls' dedicated Facebook and YouTube channels on Saturday, April 17 at 9pm.

EDIT: This event has now passed. Catch up with the musical performances in the video below.
