EVENT | Waldorf & Cannon live at Nerve Centre
The latest in our series of online gigs, Waldorf & Cannon performs live at Nerve Centre.
Waldorf & Cannon are an alternative multi-instrumentalist duo hailing from Derry and Donegal.
Consisting of Philip Wallace, aka Waldorf, on drums/guitar/harmonica/vocals and Oisin Cannon on bass and vocals, this duo is the definition of independence. They write, produce, mix and release their songs via their own label, in addition to shooting and editing their videos, building the website, organising shows and booking tours.
Their debut album, Old Dogs New Tricks, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim, and has enjoyed radio play not only across the UK and Ireland, but from Seattle to the far reaches of Russia.
Since their album’s debut they have released The Lockdown Special EP and a further six singles, most recently We Are Your Government in May 2021. They have also featured at various music festivals, most recently at Stendhal in July 2021.
They are currently putting the finishing touches to their second album, due to be released later this year. They are also fielding a new and experimental line-up featuring Paul Connolly (The Wood Burning Savages) on guitar and Jason Feenan (TOUTS) on drums.
Described as ‘Occasionally bonkers and endlessly entertaining’, we are very excited to welcome Waldorf & Cannon to Nerve Centre for this special online gig.
The gig will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube on Saturday, 7 August at 8pm. Sign up to our Live Music Mailing List to be sent a link when the set goes live.
** Please note: if you’ve already signed up to this list for one of our previous gigs, you don’t need to sign up again **
This gig is supported by the Department for Communities through Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
