BFI Film Academy Labs | Independent Film in Northern Ireland with Ursula Devine

The second webinar in our BFI Film Academy Lab events introduces the funding and development opportunities available for independent feature film production in Northern Ireland with special guest Ursula Devine.

Ursula is currently Development Executive at Northern Ireland Screen and is responsible for the Northern Ireland Screen Development slate of TV and film projects, overseeing the projects from application until they complete the development process.

Ursula manages development schemes for emerging talent and is also responsible for maintaining and facilitating relations with commissioning bodies, literary agents and sales agents. Previous to joining NI Screen Ursula worked in film production for 6 years, producing two feature films in the US and also worked for an international film distribution company based in Los Angeles.

Her development work includes: 71 (2014) BAFTA nominated, Bad Day for the Cut (2017, Sundance) BIFA nominated, The Dig (2018, TIFF), Ordinary Love (2019, TIFF), IFTA 2 wins, A Bump Along the Way (2019, TIFF), Boys from County Hell (2020, Tribeca), and Nightride (2021, TIFF).
