SHOWCASE | New Eoin MacNeill Graphic Novel
A new graphic novel exploring the life of Eoin MacNeill has been produced by the Nerve Centre.
A graphic novel looking at the life and impact of Eoin MacNeill, the renowned scholar, Gaelic revivalist and nationalist politician, is available to download and view.
The novel has been developed by the Nerve Centre’s Understanding the Decade of Commemorations project, in partnership with the Tower Museum, to mark the centenary of the partition of Ireland. The story, developed by artist Clare Foley and with a script by Seth Linder, charts the life and legacy of MacNeill, who is most famous for revoking the orders for the 1916 Easter Rising. It explores MacNeill’s reasons for this decision in the context of his nationalist political beliefs, and shows his significant role in the events leading to Irish independence.
The graphic novel features education resources for use in the classroom at Key Stage 3.
