Susan Donaghy and her band Susie-Blue have been invited onto ‘The Bread & Roses Stage’ after a promoter spotted them at a recent gig in London. Speaking about the moment they found out, the four-piece said:
‘We couldn't believe that we actually got asked to play. We double checked with our manager that it was real’
Susan was just 15 when she joined Nerve Centre’s Music Hothouse in 2007, ‘I got to see all the highs and lows of working with other people and realising you need the right energy’.
Roisin Donald, under her alias ROE, has been making waves in the music scene recently with one her singles even being played on the hit TV show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’. The rising 18 year-old star will make her debut on the BBC Introducing Stage on Friday, June 23.
Roisin says that the music programmes at Nerve Centre helped her to realise her own ambitions in seeking a career in music and finding her own sound.
‘I owe a lot to the incredible people that work there and do so much for young musicians finding their feet’.
Last minute preparations are being put in place before ROE jets off to Glastonbury, including finishing her new EP, recording music videos, writing new material and on the hunt for some cool welly boots to battle against the infamous Glasto mud!
Susie-Blue and ROE will be joined at the world-renowned music festival by Nerve Centre tutor, Paddy Nash (Paddy Nash & The Happy Enchiladas). Nash will return to Glastonbury six years after his debut. He describes the festival as, ‘a unique experience. Like a massive city full of magical wonder and great music.’
‘I’m very proud to be performing at the same festival as my former students, it is a testament to their talent and the sheer amount of work they are willing to put in.’
