Cracker Music Line-up to Kick Off the Christmas Season at Nerve Centre

Showcasing the best of local and international artists, the packed programme of gigs is sure to ward off any winter blues.

Jazz vocalist Dana Masters will perform at a special gig in aid of mental health charity Aware NI on Saturday, 7 December. Originally from the Deep South in the United States, Dana’s reputation as one of Ireland’s top vocalists continues to gain momentum. With guests Kwame (Bounce Culture) and The Jack McHale Blues Trio, this promises to be a soulful evening for a great cause.

Celebrating a year of putting on indie and alternative shows, events promoter Why. Gigs is holding a Winter Party on Friday, 13 December, with a killer line-up of bands including Silverback, The Claque, No Collusion and more. Joe Talbot, frontman of critically lauded punk rockers Idles, will close the night with an alternative DJ set - it’s not to be missed!

In conjunction with the Winter Party, a panel of musicians will join us for a discussion on mental health in the music industry. Prolific local musician Rosborough will chair the panel; panelists include Joe Talbot of post-punk band Idles and other local artists Paul Connolly of The Wood Burning Savages, Roe, Ruairi O’Doherty and John Deery. This free event will be a valuable insight into life as a professional musician.

Finishing off their headline tour of the country, Sugarwolf will hit the Nerve Centre stage on Saturday, 21 December. Rising from the ashes of the acclaimed Making Monsters, the band have earned a reputation as one of the best live acts in Ireland. They’ll have support from Cherym, Charity Shop Vinyl and Fast Thursday.

After a successful reunion show in June and a headline slot at the Gasyard Wall Feile, legendary local act Red Organ Serpent Sound return to Nerve Centre on Boxing Night, Thursday 26 December. Special guests on the night will be Foreign Owl and Dirty Faces. This homecoming gig promises to be the highlight of the festive period.
