SYNC Alumni Set For Show With Thin Lizzy Legend

SYNC – Set the Stage alumni Riot Upstairs are to perform alongside renowned Thin Lizzy founder Eric Bell on one of his ‘June in Ireland’ 2015 tour dates.

The event is part of Bell’s European tour, which sees him return to Ireland to entertain audiences with his signature mesmerising guitar playing. Joined by Dave Wintour (bass) and Romek Parol (drums), the concert, held in McGrory’s of Culdaff, promises to be a showstopper.

Supporting Bell will be Derry band Riot Upstairs; a fresh, new indie-rock band who crashed onto the music scene late last year with their single ‘Third Round’.

This will be a particular highlight for the young band, who have performed throughout Derry following their participation in the Nerve Centre’s SYNC - Set the Stage initiative. Recently they played a one-off event in Foyleside Shopping Centre.

SYNC – Set the Stage seeks to introduce young people to the world of music through teaching them the skills involved in producing and delivering their own event.

Through the programme, Riot Upstairs undertook a six-week training course, concluding with a final concert. The band claims this experience was the motivational push they needed to start booking their own shows.

June marks the beginning of their tour with slots supporting acts such as The Wood Burning Savages, Lost Avenue and, of course, Eric Bell.

Riot Upstairs are currently working on their new single and EP, to be released in late Summer 2015.
