If jazz music is the heart of New Orleans, then The Soul Rebels’ music is the blood that pumps through the city’s veins. They embrace the rich jazz traditions of their homeland but add life-affirming vocals and hip-shaking grooves aplenty.

Couple those elements to funk, ska and hip-hop, with vocal harmonies, catchy horn lines and more solos than you can shake a stick at, and you have a good-time party band like no other, with an infectious energy that’s impossible to resist. They sold out the Queen Elizabeth Hall at last year’s London Jazz Festival and delivered a storming set on Later With Jools Holland, this is your chance to catch these rising New Orleans superstars in a funky small venue. Get sweaty, sip a bourbon and taste music with an extra dash of cayenne.

Starting out as a local New Orleans favourite, The Soul Rebels have evolved into collaborating live with acts including Metallica, Green Day, Maceo Parker, Galactic, Slick Rick, Trombone Shorty, Suzanne Vega and David A. Stewart of the Eurythmics, as well as being billed on shows with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Alabama Shakes, Estelle, Cee Lo Green, Arcade Fire and others. They are now one of the most exciting live bands in the world and the highlight  of this years City of Derry Jazz festival
