Oscar® Contender Stephen Fingleton and SmithDehn Law Firm To visit BFI at the Nerve Centre

Students from the Nerve Centre's acclaimed BFI Film Academy are, this weekend, set to enjoy another very special masterclass delivered by award-winning director Stephen Fingleton and SmithDehn LLP.

Over 20 BFI students, aged between 16 and 19, will enjoy a practical hands-on workshop in 'Directing for Camera' with Stephen who has recently made it onto the long list for best live-action short at the 2015 Academy Awards with SLR. The film won several festival awards, including Best Irish Short film at last year's Foyle Film Festival.

Tony Doherty, Media Business Affairs Executive at media law firm, SmithDehn LLP, will also host a session on 'Legality of Film Production'. Smith Dehn represents clients in the fields of television and film production counselling, media litigation and libel defence, include copyright and trademark counselling. Recent productions that SmithDehn have been involved in include; We are the Giant, Chuck Norris vs Communism, Listen to me Marlon and Dark Horse.

BFI Film Academy at the Nerve Centre offers a unique opportunity to young people already studying Moving Image Arts at higher level; to participate in a skills-based academy of workshops and masterclasses delivered by industry professionals.
