Nerve Centre to Host the North West’s First TeachMeet

Nerve Centre to Host the North West’s First TeachMeet

The North West’s first ever TeachMeet will be held at the Nerve Centre on Fri February 8.

Teach Meet is an organised but informal meeting of teachers, established by teachers, for the sharing and exchange of good practice, practical innovations, use of new technology, software or teaching techniques in today’s classroom.

TeachMeet is about fun, learning and sharing. Teachers sign up to present on any topic for either 2 or 7 minutes. On the night a random name picker will choose who presents next. The timeslots are strictly adhered to and if you are over time a stuffed camel is thrown at you to tell you your time is up (seriously!).

The presentations can come from the primary or post-primary classroom but all are rooted in the real world of delivery in the classrooms of the north west.

A special feature of TeachMeet NW is that teachers from both Northern Ireland and the Republic are invited to share knowledge and experience from both sides of the border to gain a wider understanding of what works in the fast moving world of the modern classroom.

You don't have to present on the evening - just come along and meet teachers who like to 'Show and Tell' their experience of doing something in the classroom. It might be a resource that they have been using, a website that has enhanced their teaching and the children's learning or a new piece of software that might be the answer to your teaching prayers!

Places at TeachMeetNW are limited to 200 and filling up fast so early booking is advised at
