Nerve Centre’s SYNC Participants Continue To Showcase Their Musical Talents

Following on from their electrifying performance at the Music Promise ‘Joyous Celebration’ event last week in St Columb's Hall, young musicians from the Nerve Centre’s SYNC project will, this weekend, take to the stage of the Playtrail Auditorium, as they continue to showcase the results of a remarkable year-long musical journey.

On Saturday December 14 young rock bands, singers, electronic musicians, ensembles and singer songwriters will strut their collective stuff on the most unique stage in the city - the Playtrail Auditorium, while on Friday, December 20, the Nerve Centre will host a SYNC youth electronica concert with every beat dropped by its budding DJs and producers.

SYNC is a ‘Music Promise in the Community’ initiative at the core of the City of Culture 2013 programme. Throughout the year, the Nerve Centre’s SYNC programme has delivered a series of ground breaking creative music and performance workshops in every part of the city, engaging with hundreds of young musicians and providing unique performance opportunities at Glasgowbury, Music City, live appearances on radio and mentoring with Musician in Residence Neil Cowley.

Marty McGill, music education manager at the Nerve Centre explained. ‘This year has been magnificent for our young people. Their energy, spirit and talent shine through on every performance and this month's gigs will be no different. I'm really looking forward to seeing the SYNC students back on stage, doing what they do best. Come along and see the stars of the future!'

The free concerts will take place at the Playtrail Auditorium on Saturday December 14 at 2pm and at the Nerve Centre on Friday December 20, time to be confirmed. Everyone welcome.
