Help Protect Our Education Programmes from Devastating Budget Cuts

Have your say on proposed Northern Ireland Screen budget cuts NOW!

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure has asked organisations that are funded through Northern Ireland Screen to prepare for a 50% cut in funding in 2015-16.

Such a massive cut would have a devastating impact on the groundbreaking work of the Creative Learning Centres in Derry~Londonderry, Belfast and Armagh, which are used by thousands of young people and teachers each year.

The cuts will also affect the Nerve Centre’s hugely popular Foyle Film Festival, After-Schools Film Clubs and Film Education Programmes. If you are a user of the CLCs; if you value the role of creativity in education, particularly for those who are most marginalised in society; if you want to ensure that young people are equipped with the digital skills needed for a 21st century workforce; and if you think that film is a powerful tool for changing lives for the better…

Then please take two minutes to tell DCAL why this work should be protected using the form below. If you are unable to see the form, please email your response directly to budgetconsultation@dcalni.gov.uk.
