ETI Conference at Nerve Belfast

ETI Conference at Nerve Belfast

Over 60 educationalists attended an ICT staff development conference, hosted by Nerve Belfast on Friday October 27. The conference was organised by the Education and Training Inspectorate on the theme of Computational Thinking.

Throughout Friday morning there were presentations from Stanmillis College, CCEA, C2K and Barefoot Computing. After lunch the audience enjoyed a series of case studies by schools who have introducing computer and digital literacy across the curriculum.

Aisling Hagan, senior teacher and director of e-learning at St Mary's Grammar, Magherafelt provided an insight into how digital learning was adopted through a whole school approach. St Mary's Grammar was a partnership school of both the Nerve Centre and Nerve Belfast and this year won first prize in C2K's Excellence in ICT awards for post-primary schools.

In the closing session of the conference, Nerve Belfast offered participants a choice of three workshops demonstrating practical coding skills at Key Stage 1, 2 and 3.
