Check Your Brains and Your Funny Bones at Nerve Centre Movie Quiz

As part of the celebrations of the Community Film Project the Nerve Centre is proud to present a fantastic night of wit versus nitwits.

On Wednesday, April 2 Nerve Centre will throw a movie quiz for all fans of cinema; from the ardent obsessive to the casual Netflixer. There will be picture rounds, spot prizes, name that film, soundtrack rounds and a tonne of fun.

Your host for the evening will be one of the resident MCs from Masons Comedy Club, Peter E Davidson. Peter ran the successful comedy podcast panel show all about movies that was held as part of the Big Tickle festival and Foyle Film Festival.

So if you feel like forming a team and are looking to win some great movie themed prizes then come along and put your knowledge to the test.

Following that there will be a special screening of Mel Brooks’ comedy classic Blazing Saddles.

The film is one of the three great collaborations between Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder and features great support from Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens and Madeline Kahn. It is easily one of the most quotable and best loved comedies of all time.

This ground breaking and highly un-PC comedy marks its 40th anniversary this year. There’s no better way to see it than in a room full of people laughing along and adding their sound effects to the bean eating scene.

It has the distinguished honour of being the first film from a major studio to have a fart joke in it and in 2006 it was voted by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry.

The quiz kicks off at 7.30pm and will be held in the Nerve Centre venue.
