Camp Rock 2012

Camp Rock 2012

Camp Rock is a week-long intensive residential music programme run by the NEELB, incorporating advanced elements of instrument techniques, ‘Song, Music Industry and Tech Labs’ adopting the ‘Music Hothouse’ model pioneered by the Nerve Centre. The Camp Rock programme is designed to solidify the participants’ prior learning and the use of well known performance Mentors engenders the process with extra weight.

Now in its fourth year, Camp Rock 2012 took place at the Bushmills Education Centre on Monday July 2 to Thursday July 5 by 30 young people from across Northern Ireland. The young musicians, all at different skill levels with their instruments, spent the week taking part in intensive rehearsals and were moulded into performing artists by Martin McGill and the Nerve Centre music team.  The programme culminated with a live performance from the newly formed rock bands on the Thursday night, where the participants performed original material and a variety of cover versions. This year saw the entire Camp Rock event captured by NEELBTV for airing later in the year on Sky TV.
