Budding Journalism Students Create Intro Magazine at Nerve Centre's BBC Academy

During a week-long series of free masterclasses and workshops, the Nerve Centre played host to some of the most influential names in music and entertainment as part of the BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra Academy.

From May 11-17, budding journalism students grabbed the opportunity to learn new skills in everything journalism. Students were taught how to be professional reporters during a week-long series of workshops, facilitated by the journalism department at the Verbal Arts Centre, which resulted in the opportunity to write their very own publication, Intro Magazine. Before interviewing some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry, seasoned journalist, Leona O’Neill put the young students through their paces in subjects such as interview skills, music reviews, news features, photography and magazine design.

Take note of the names of the journalism students involved, as in a few years, the will be on the radio, newspapers and television!
