Beat The Summer Boredom With Foyle Film Festival's Summer Programme

Foyle Film Festival has unveiled a stellar line-up of movie screenings for July and August, taking in acclaimed Oscar® winners, hot documentaries and some of 2014’s biggest releases.

Highlights from this season’s selection of films include; Whiplash, The Great Hip Hop Hoax, Wild Tales and Bright Days Ahead. Also in the programme is a special screening of Gascoigne, an exhilarating account of Paul Gascoigne’s extraordinary career, and an authorised documentary on the late musician Kurt Cobain, from the early days to his success and downfall with the grunge band Nirvana (Cobain: Montage of Heck).

 

 

There’s also a series of animated hits such as, Postman Pat, Paddington and Big Hero 6 for the whole family to enjoy from only £2, plus free popcorn!

In a week-long series of workshops for creative young minds they will bring life to 2D laser-cut robots, get to grips with the basics of filmmaking, and create a short films - ideal for 8-12 year olds.

There’s plenty for teenagers too! Create a retro game using a combination of animation and programming, or become an action hero as you make and star in your own movie.
