The BFI Film Academy in Northern Ireland is an innovative course hosted by the Nerve Centre, the AMMA Centre in Armagh, Nerve Belfast and Cinemagic. The programme teaches new and aspiring filmmakers a greater knowledge of every aspect of the film industry and helps their passion for film progress and helps make a career in film a reality.

BFI Film Academy Co-ordinator Eavan King said: 'The industry in Northern Ireland is flourishing with an impressive output of original short and feature films from NI talent already featured in our own Oscar and BAFTA affiliated Foyle Film Festival. BFI Film Academy aims to connect that talent and expertise to our young filmmakers and identify the opportunities that are here for them in Northern Ireland.

'Success stories such as that of BAFTA winner Brian Falconer inspire and motivate our graduates to confidently go forward into the Industry. It's an exciting time for young people interested in a career in film.'

Katie Duddy, a current student of the programme, added: 'The Academy has been majorly beneficial and influential, it aims to give students a clearer outlook into a future in the film world focusing on the key aspects needed to proceed.'
