48Hr Music Bootcamp @ CultureTECH

Witness the evolution of an original song, from conception to release during the Nerve Centre’s unique 48hr music boot camp, hosted by a series of industry experts later this month (September 18 – 19).

Presented by Nerve Centre and Honeycomb – Creative Works in association with Generator NI as part of the CultureTECH Festival participants will experience the entire music production process, from start to finish in 48 action-packed hours.

Folk musician Rachel Sermanni will join rams' pocket radio (multi-instrumentalist, Peter McCauley) to create an original song with Derry-based record label Smalltown America. On hand to facilitate will be Girls Aloud co-writer Paul Steel, sharing his expertise in creating top 40 hits. His writing credentials also include Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun), Mika, Nicola Roberts, Saint Raymond, and PNAU to name but a few.

Participants will have the chance to get to grips with every aspect of producing and releasing an EP through a series of step-by-step master classes and shadowing opportunities. The accompany video will be shot on location by Darren Lee from Maverick Renegade Productions. He has previously worked with bands such as; The Answer, LMFAO and Runaway Go. Music photographer Carrie Davenport will also be on hand to capture high quality images for the EP.

Explaining more about the 48hr music bootcamp Pearse Moore, Chief Executive at Nerve Centre said: ‘The music industry is full of mystery, it’s a vast and tangled business and for musicians taking their first steps into the industry, the road to success can be daunting. The bootcamp will be an intense, but hugely beneficial 48hrs for musicians to uncover some of the industry’s biggest secrets.’
